Prior team and people management skills and ability to handle stakeholder relationships are essential.Broadly, the key responsibilities are:Audit service delivery Be the leader of a team comprising of 6-8 associates, responsible for audit service delivery and ensure timely & quality audit deliverables on the work done by self and the teamIndustry focus and strategic initiatives Be responsible for managing a portfolio of US clients within the Insurance industry group and act as a support to Managers and above in shaping up GDC level strategic initiatives like Centralization/InnovationPeople management Be a performance manager for a group (8-10) of professionals at Associate level and actively participate in the performance development process at GDCRoles and responsibilitiesThe Senior Associate 2 will be predominantly responsible to Perform audit service delivery -Lead audit service delivery for an assigned dedicated teams for ET and demonstrate understanding and knowledge of industry specific audit proceduresProvide clarifications, train and mentor associates on a timely basis on industry specific audit and accounting knowledge and client specific matters on audit work papersEnsure that the work is planned, organized and performed by self and team by guiding them and performing reviews on deliverables to ensure Quality and timely delivery of work with EfficiencyRaise any issues identified on a timely basis to the GDC managers, rotational and ET, as well as seek possible resolution from themUnderstand and capture comments during Quality and Risk Management team (QRM) review and from ET to provide feedback to team for self and team developmentWork on improvement in audit work papers based on ET feedbackIdentify more areas of work on US audits and transition those to GDCIdentify opportunities to standardize and optimize audit processes across a portfolio of clients and industriesDemonstrate professionalism, industry competence and clarity of communication when dealing with ETDevelop self by participating in and developing others by facilitating audit conceptual trainings and ensuring that team members are trainedManage people Be a performance manager to guide and coach GDC professionals on career advancement and provide continuous feedback throughout the performance year on their development areasActively participate in overall performance development and feedback process at GDCTake steps to inculcate the GDC Culture in his/her team and strategic measures to improve the overall GPS Score of the organizationLead projects Actively get involved on business and industry specific knowledge development initiatives at GDCLead / participate in the firms strategic initiatives and/or corporate social responsibility programsImprove operational effectiveness through measures of improving people utilization and generating efficiencies and suggesting implementable solutions to ManagersEducation and Experience RequirementsQualified CA/US CPA/ACCA and minimum of Bachelors degree in Finance & Accounting with first division (60 PERCENT )4 5 years of post-qualification experience along with strong Articleship experience from a mid-size or a Big 4 firm in case of CA ORRelevant audit experience of at least 5 years in case of possessing certifications other than CAExperience with Big 4/leading Audit firms or their shared service center would be preferredExperience in US Insurance (Life, Non- Life and Health) industry integrated and Non integrated financial statement audit or auditing experience in Financial Services entitiesTechnical SkillsKnowledge of US GAAP and international auditing standardsExcellent MS Excel skills, working knowledge of MS OfficeStrong English communication abilities (Oral & Written) and effective audit documentation skillsShould possess strong project management,leadership,coaching counselling and supervisory skillsEffective interpersonal, risk management, facilitation and presentation skillsEnabling SkillsAttention to detail and quality consciousnessBe a quick learner and demonstrate adaptability to change Should be willing to and capable of delivering under tight timelines, basis the business needs including working on weekends and holidaysShould be open to travel to US on short and long term assignmentsPrimary Location : IndiaWork Locations : Bangalore OneOneBangaloreJob : Assistant Manager & BelowJob Posting : 16-04-2020, 1:33:59 AM
